The combined-cycle gas turbine plant at Coolkeeragh was developed by Coolkeeragh ESB Limited, a partnership between ESB International and Coolkeeragh Power Limited. The station was commissioned in June 2005 and is being operated and maintained by ESBI O&M Solutions in line with best international practice for power generation stations. Responsible for operating, developing and financing the project, ESBI provided strategic development services including techno-economic modelling, system operation and cross-border electricity trading analysis. The 400MW plant uses GE 9FA gas turbines and dry low-nox combustion for higher efficiency and reduced emissions.
