This memorial tablet was dedicated in Carlisle Road Church, Londonderry by Rev. Dr. F.W.C. Wallace. He paid tribute to Rev. Samuel McVicker as a man who had the gift of making friends, as a minister beloved by his people, as a preacher who applied the truths of the everlasting Gospel in a simple and practical form to modern conditions of life and as a leader of youth through the Boys' Auxiliary, the Boys' Brigade, Christian Endeavour and various Education authorities. The tablet was unveiled by Mrs. McVicker who was accompanied by her daughter and son-in-law, Mr and Mrs James Heney. |
